Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Storage Project

The Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) storage project has been designed to address the significant imbalance between natural gas production and consumption in the country and mitigate the impacts of gas supply shortages on industrial operations. Due to restrictions on gas consumption for Chadormalu’s industrial plants, as well as the requirement to ensure a year-round natural gas supply for the 546 MW Chadormalu Combined Cycle Self-Supplied Power Plant (Ardakan) in compliance with environmental regulations, this project has been prioritized as a strategic solution to guarantee a stable and sustainable fuel supply.

The project is planned for implementation near the Sarv Combined Cycle Power Plant and the Ardakan self-supplied power plant. The execution model will follow the EPCF framework (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Financing). Currently, the project is in the study and preparation phase. A preliminary feasibility study (FS) tailored to the project’s specific requirements has been completed, and the feedstock permit has been secured.

Key milestones achieved so far include:

Preliminary approval for project implementation.
Acquisition of the official site map from the Agricultural Engineering Organization.
Submission of a land allocation request to the Yazd Provincial Agricultural Jihad Organization.
